Preliminary Task: Mockumentary

During the last few lessons, we worked as groups to create a mockumentary. This allowed us to get a taster for this year’s coursework. Fortunately, we already had last year’s experience planning a video, so it was a simple process. We had to make a mockumentary following its conventions: voiceovers, interviews with the characters, camera/crew being visible in the video, and comedy.

From doing this we learned teamwork skills: we worked together to create the script and to edit the final product. I also learned about documentaries as we had to research previous to making it, and I had never made something like this before.

The audio cuts off in some of the voiceovers. I don’t know why, because this didn’t happen when we were editing. Maybe it was a problem in exporting the file.
